Lazy sun made for a lazy morning today…didn’t get to the DZ until around 10. The birds definitely beat me this morning…. Twin Otter was already turning, and I felt bad for mssing the first jumps of the day, because the air is beautiful. There is a storm heading this way, so clouds are just begging to be surfed. The winds are expected to pick up, but that’s OK, as I’ve got around 750 GB of footage to copy from one HDD to another so we can begin the editing process on Justin’s new video project.
I also completed a short piece on the 71 way event at Elsinore.
Trivia question for you…what is the largest wingsuit formation ever attempted.
After a coupla fat jumps, listening to Christmas music on the ride up and Alter Bridge on the flight down, I packed it in for the day in favor of getting some editing accomplished. I really do want to jump my tail off, but it’s vacation time too…
The one and only “The Harry Parker” spent his afternoon prepping the Tiki Bar for the New Year’s Eve event, putting in a new sound system, lighting, and most important of all, a cooler and stripper bar. Andrea showed up and christened the new pole with Jeff Nebelkopf’s help. (Andreea is known as “SuperGirl” to some…)
Paul and Elana are here with their wingsuits and beautiful dogs. The camping and RV area are already filling up and the boogie doesn’t officially start for a few more days…this is gonna be great.
It’s Christmas Eve and a few die-hards are at the Tiki Bar tossing back a few beers and enjoying the evening together. With luck, perhaps we’ll see Santa streak across the sky led by a bright blinking red light. Even if it doesn’t happey, we might see it anyway. Harry and Jeff have active imaginations….
And with that, I think it’s time to sign out for the night. It’s Christmas Eve….Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Festivus, Merry Kwanzaa , or whatever your flavor is. Tonight we celebrate the season for any number of reasons but most importantly, hopefully you’re with friends or family as you read this.
